The name Palo Santo means “Holy Wood.” This plant is desired for it’s physical and metaphysical effects. The trees live for 80 to 90 years. After death, the tree must remain in its natural habitat for 4 to 10 years to be considered complete. It is then collected and cut down to be used by others.

Through its smoke, users claim it provides energetic protection, removes bad energy, uplifts the spirit, brings good luck, treats headaches, and repel mosquitoes. This wood is also used: as a feline stimulant (similar to catnip), for colds, asthma, allergies, stress, anxiety, seasickness, migraine, arthritis, neck aces, cervical pain, meditation, and relaxation. Users can also use the wood in tea preparation. As a tea, it stimulates the immune system and fights inflammation.
