Also known as ‘olibanum’, frankincense has been used for thousands of years. It’s commonly used resin incenses, and it is burned for purification. Found throughout Africa, the Middle East, and India, many cultures found a use for this prized aromatic possession.

Frankincense comes from the Boswellia sacra plant in Somalia. The trunk of the tree exudes a sticky resin that is made up of gum, resin, and essential oil. Once the resin hardens into crystal form, it is harvested and used across the globe. People use rock incense in religious practices and as aromatherapy. In spiritual practices, rock incense is believed to protect people from negativity.

Frankincense has a lot of varieties that affect its properties.

Myrrh is traditionally used to repel fleas and mosquitoes. It’s also thought to be effective in reducing inflammation, indigestion, ulcers, colds, asthma, lung congestion, arthritis pain, leprosy, and more. It is also used as a stimulant and to increase menstrual flow.

Three Kings Rock Frankincense is predominantly frankincense mixed with sandalwood, benzoin, and myrrh resin.

Usage Directions: Light a charcoal disk. Once sufficiently burning, place several pieces of the resin on the coal. As the resin heats, it melts and gives off an aromatic smoke. Once the resin has burnt out, you can gently push the resin ash aside and place a new resin on the disk.

Caution: You should never leave burning incense unattended. Please make sure you light the charcoal and incense in a non-flammable plate or bowl. Not for internal use.
