Achieving a Perfect Bath

Sometimes you need to soak in a bath to ease your muscles. Get rid of tension and refresh your senses in the perfect bath. While running the water and sitting in it is important, that’s not how you achieve the perfect bath experience. Here are several things that you can do to maximize your bath-time to make it a perfect experience every time.



Clean your bath room. Nothing is more disgusting or upsetting when you sit down in the tub and notice dirt, grim, and mold in places. Make sure your tub, floor, and other surfaces are clean. Pick up toiletries and other garbage in the area. Cleanliness is important in the immediate area.

Set the mood. Light a candle, incense, or spray some air freshener to cleanse the air. These items help ease the sense using aromatherapeutic scents. Set the atmosphere to fit the feeling of your mood. Scented candles are a great source of calming the nasal and visual senses.

Turn on the tunes. Begin your audio therapy to achieve a relaxed state-of-mind. Play music that helps you feel stress-free. Find your happy medium whether it’s calming ambient, soothing nature sounds, or soft jazz. Make sure whatever music that is played will make you relaxed. If you are constantly surrounded by noise, having no music on can be a calming experience as well.

Start the water and infuse it. Monitor the temperature to ensure the water isn’t too cold or scalding hot. You’ll want it to be more of the hotter side though to allow you to sit before feeling cold. Add your desired bath products to infuse the water with body-loving nutrients. Epson salts and soaks are great for longer, deep muscle soaking. Bath bombs add aromatherapeutic scents to your bath. Vitamin oils and essential aroma oils boost the moisturization of your skin. Adding dry herbs to your bath water is the same as seeping tea bags. Liquid soap in the form of bubble bath provides visually soothing cleansing aids. Decide on what works for you.

Soak, scrub, and lather. When you dip into the water, be prepared to indulge in your relaxing moment. Immerse yourself in the water and begin to soothe your skin. After soaking for some time, begin your scrubbing of dead skin. Make sure you take time to be as through as you need to be. Use your bar or liquid soap to clean your skin. Lather the soap to your desired amount and work your way over your body. You may use various scrubbing agents like towels, sponges, brushes, loofahs, and more.

Rinse and dry. Don’t rush your bath by speeding through the last moments. Some people may run fresh water to rinse while others might turn on the shower to rinse. Just don’t startle yourself with a drastic temperature change. After you’ve rinsed, towel dry. Make sure you pat dry your body without completely drying your skin.

Soothe and Moisturize. Moisturize while your skin is damp. Waiting too long to apply reduces the amount of hydration that is trapped in your skin. Use your favorite product to have your skin feeling smooth and smelling great. Lotions, body butters, crèmes, and oils are all wonderful to use during this time depending on what you want.


A relaxing bath is a powerful emotion that can care your mood throughout the day and night. Leaving the bathroom doesn’t mean that you have to leave the calm mind behind. Try to stay relaxed as your go into your next task. To keep your aromatic calm heightened, light a candle, incense, or aroma room freshener. Alpha Kappa Alpha Impact Day Paint Night Fundraiser

Dedicated to building community.

Reaching the goal and finding new ways to grow. In salute to the black art movement Alpha Kappa Alpha joined forces with Zambo Aroma for a fun filled impact day with good energy and beautiful faces. Hosted by Tau Nu Omega Chapter this fundraiser brought together members of several chapters to a day of self-care and rejuvenation using art expression as a medium. One of the coolest things about this night is that 30% of ticket sales were donated to the Art Therapy Programs by The Zambo Collective LLC. This art therapy program provides social space for Bronx teens as well as young adults to express and explore art, culture, and life experiences in a group therapy setting.

Cleaning your skin is a very important process in the quest to have healthy skin. Throughout the day, we come into contact with a lot of bacteria, dust, chemicals, and other foreign agents. Once on your skin, these foreign agents can cause havoc on your external and internal health. Bacteria that grows on your skin will clog pores and cause other skin sensitivities to occur.
